March 2008: Press Release
Caffe Sanora showcases real worker’s lives in Sanora Vida
Caffe Sanora launches “educational program” to allow consumers a peak into workers behind the beans, the inner workings of a Rainforest Alliance coffee company.
Austin, Tex. – (March 2008) – Coffee lovers opening bags of fresh Caffe Sanora Natural Antioxidant Coffee, will soon be greeted by more than just the aroma of their rich, gourmet organic coffee. Starting in May, select bags of Caffe Sanora, distributed nationally, will include a small card featuring some of the coffee pickers and organic coffee gardeners on the family farm in Honduras that produce Caffe Sanora’s popular coffee. A smiling face and a “thank you” from some of the people who helped make Caffe Sanora possible will direct people to www.sanoraexperience.com where they can watch interviews, testimonials, and educational videos on what exactly makes Caffe Sanora a Rainforest Alliance coffee. Rainforest Alliance ensures fair wages and safe worker conditions for the Caffe Sanora workers.
“We’re calling the program ‘Sanora Vida,’ showcasing life in Central America and recognizing the people that make Caffe Sanora a proud Rainforest Alliance product,” says Jackson Zapp, Director of Marketing for Caffe Sanora. “Without these people, we wouldn’t have a company. Each bag will pay tribute to our family of workers, and on top of that, consumers will receive a $.50 off purchase coupon as a thank you for being a loyal customer.”
Caffe Sanora is the only coffee to use Healthy Roast, a patented roasting process allows the beans to retain most of the antioxidants lost in traditional high-heat roasting. This rich and robust organic coffee is loaded with natural antioxidants – more than most green teas.
Caffe Sanora coffee is available in light, medium and dark roasts, in whole bean or ground (including espresso grind), and in both caffeinated and decaffeinated varieties. Pricing is consistent with other premium gourmet coffees. Caffe Sanora is available in select health food stores, conventional grocery stores in the natural/organic isle, and via the company Web site www.caffesanora.com.
